autism diagnostic assessment clinic (ADAC)

We are delighted to announce the start of the Autism Diagnostic Assessment Clinic – East Anglia (ADAC- EA), based in central Norwich, in the Charing Cross Centre.

ADAC-EA is an independent assessment clinic run by Dr Ekkehart F A Staufenberg, consultant neuropsychiatrist and senior lecturer (Hon).

Please read this short introduction.

More details about the professional training and background for Dr Ekkehart F A Staufenberg can be found on LinkedIn and on ResearchGate

ADAC is independent of Asperger East Anglia however Dr Staufenberg has been a Board of Trustees member for over 25 years at its foundation.

Your choice of using ADAC for the examination of a possible autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis has two unique advantages over other services:

  1. A substantial proportion of the fee you pay (currently ~ £1.5k) will be donated, via   GiftAid to the entirely independent AEA Charity account.
  2. Your choice of ADAC for the examination will therefore help Asperger East Anglia’s service users to continue to benefit from support, advice, training, and, potentially, also access to work activities funded by the Charity.

ADAC is currently the only service lead by a professional NHS consultant who has been a member of the team(s) which helped define the most recent clinical diagnostic criteria for neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder. You will be able to be assured that the most up to date and modern clinical diagnostic approaches, with your information key to the process, will be the basis of the final formulation of an ASD diagnosis IF present in yourself / your relative / your friend you support.

ADAC insists on you sharing all your / your relative’s life-time history including:

  • Pregnancy
  • Birth
  • Subsequent life-events (educational, emotional, social)
    • Psychological functioning in the world (pre-school, school, University courses, examination history, employment / occupation)

ADAC insists on one in-person assessment interview, only exceptionally permitting on-line interviews.

We are looking forward to meeting you.

Please note, an assessment can only take place once funding is confirmed and available on the day of the assessment for payment. Also note, ADAC-EA is a registered GiftAid donor to the AEA Charity and a substantial proportion of each assessment fee will be donated to AEA to further support autistic people and their families.
