EMPLOYMENT

Supported Employment Scheme

We have secured funding from the Learning Skills Council, which enables us to assist and support young people aged 14 to 19 years old in accessing the necessary support they need to maintain their current educational placement and receive help with their transition or move on into further education, training or employment (paid/voluntary). For more information please contact the Asperger East Anglia office, tel: 01603 620500.

Asperger East Anglia organises Social Groups for teenagers and adults on alternate Thursday evenings where members meet their peers and have the opportunity to build self esteem and learn the social skills we all take for granted. This is achieved in part through organised activities. Many friendships have been made at the groups, which might otherwise not have been formed.
The Social groups are very important as they help members to improve their skills and so help them when going into Supported Employment as well as helping them on a day to day basis.
