EDUCATION

Asperger East Anglia has already established firm links with Norfolk Children's Services (Education).

We are regularly asked to give representation on various working groups and meetings to influence the development of ongoing appropriate and relevant education and support for children and young people with Asperger syndrome.

Additionally we take part in Consultations relating to developments within Norfolk relating to Special Educational Needs.

Our aim for the future is to develop and sustain similar links with other East Anglian Children's Services (Education).

Norfolk County Council Strategy for Special Educational Needs (SEN) Provision in Norfolk 2006 - 2009

Norfolk County Council has completed the consultation of their plans for SEN provision for 2006-9, including plans specifically relating to the educational provision for children with an ASD and Asperger syndrome whether they hold a statement of special educational needs or not.
The results can be found on www.norfolk.gov.uk/senstrategy then select the Children's Services review panel report link near the end of the page.

Transitions

Anne Ebbage Senior Education Advisor has worked with Michelle Mould of the Norfolk Autistic Society and other members of Norfolk's ASD steering group to produce a document which it is hoped will help the many transitions children & young people make in their education setting; not just the move from one school to another or moving on from school to Further Education, training or employment.

Norfolk Children's Services Specialist Autistic Support Team will now begin to pilot this document. Please use this link to download the document in Word format to fill out the form electronically. Alternatively use the link below to download the form in pdf format.
